Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Backbone Built LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Day One Dad mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@dayonedad.app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the App's features. Specifically:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely in hashed form; we never store your password in plain text). This is used to sign you in and sync your data.

Profile and family information. During setup and use, you provide information such as your name (or the name you choose to go by), your baby's name(s), your baby's date of birth, whether this is your first child, whether you have a single baby or multiples, your baby's gender, birth type, feeding method, and whether you are under professional feeding guidance. This information personalizes the guidance the App shows you.

Dad HQ check-in data. If you use the Dad HQ features, we store the information you log there — such as your daily check-ins (energy, stress, patience, connection, sleep), the responsibilities you choose to own, and the small wins ("reps") you log.

Coach conversations. When you use the AI Coach feature, the messages you send are processed to generate a response (see "Third-Party Services" below).

Technical information. Like most apps, we and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical data necessary to operate the service (for example, basic device and connection information when your app communicates with our servers). We do not use this for advertising.

We do not knowingly collect more than what is described above, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

The guidance, content, and personalization in the App are generated based on the information you provide (such as your baby's age and profile).

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the App. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us:

Supabase — provides our authentication, database, and data-storage infrastructure. Your account and the data described above are stored securely using Supabase, with access controls that restrict your data to your account.

Anthropic — powers the AI Coach feature. When you send a message to the Coach, the content of that message (along with relevant context such as your baby's age) is transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate a response. We do not send your email, password, or account identifiers to Anthropic for this purpose beyond what is necessary to process your request. Anthropic processes this data according to its own terms and privacy practices.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers to understand how they handle data.

4. How Your Information Is Stored and Protected

Your data is stored using industry-standard infrastructure (Supabase) with security measures including encrypted transmission and access controls that limit your data to your own account (row-level security). While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Access and update. You can view and update much of your profile information directly in the App.

Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from within the App (in the Me tab). When you delete your account, we delete your account and the personal data associated with it from our systems. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Contact us. For any privacy request or question, email support@dayonedad.app.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable laws (such as the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information). We will honor such requests as required by law — contact us to exercise them.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by adults (parents and caregivers), not by children. The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Information about a baby (such as name and date of birth) is provided by you, the adult user, to personalize your experience, and is treated as part of your account data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data as described above. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

8. International Users

We operate the App from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and by our service providers. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
